Strong web-based training (WBT) design skills, openness to feedback, and ability to pivot quickly. Job Description: Partner with PG&E’s team to conceptualize training design and content. Define learning objectives, course structure, learning content and assessments. Complete detailed analysis of existing content and each task to be trained/supported for target audience, business process, and systems. Follow company standards, guidelines, and templates to develop learning materials including student and facilitator presentations and guides, activities, scenarios, and assessments. Create instructional graphics, scenarios, or interactions. Write clear and effective instruction and facilitator text appropriate for the target audience. Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with subject matter experts including task analysis, alpha, beta, and answer validation meetings. Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback. Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks. Required Skills ~3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led, eLearning, or virtual training in a technical environment. ~ Experience developing training for utility industry. ~ Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies. ~ Ability to work on at least 2 WBTs simultaneously. ~ Highly organized and detail-oriented. ~ Clear, concise, and welcoming communication style. Experience working with a minimum of 3 subject matter experts for a single project. ~ Prior experience writing assessment questions and creating exams. ~ Prior experience using Articulate Storyline to create WBTs (ideally has developed at least 3 WBTs). ~ Demonstrates critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills to address client requests. ~ Eagerly participates in team building and feedback exercises. Prioritizes team and client collaboration. ~ Strong knowledge of PowerPoint and Word. Highly Desired: Knowledge of QuestionMark and Author-it. Safety knowledge strongly desired. ******************NO NON-LOCAL CANDIDATES, NO C2C Candidates***************** Job Title: Instructional Designer, Training Curriculum Dev Location: Livermore , CA (REMOTE) Description: LOOKING FOR CANDIDATES CURRENTLY RESIDING WITHIN SERVICE TERRITORY (CENTRAL AND NORTHERN CALIFORNIA). - -ASSIGNMENT WILL BE MAINLY REMOTE. WILL BE REQUIRED TO TRAVEL 1 TO 2 TIMES QUARTERLY TO AUBURN, WINTERS, LIVERMORE OR SIERRA REGION FOR SITE VISITS AS NEEDED. OVERNIGHTS WILL BE REQUIRED 1 OR 2 TIMES QUARTERLY. TOP THINGS LOOKING FOR: ~ Technical training development, experienced in task analysis, proven experience with hands on Instructor-led training. Responsibilities: Design and develop instructor-led and on-the-job training for apprenticeships in the Power Generation utilities industry including hydro, solar, and battery storage. Leverage and apply established instructional design methodologies to assess stakeholder needs, analyze complex content, and evaluate delivered training. Develop learning materials for technical content, including hands-on practice activities, student guides, facilitator guides, scenarios, videos, assessments, simulations, and other instructional media. Perform a detailed task analysis for each job function, business process, or system for which training will be developed. Partner with cross-functional teams to conceptualize training design and content. Define learning objectives, and course structure aligned to stakeholder needs and to meet the constraints of the learning environment. Work under the direction of the Senior Instructional Designer to apply company standards, guidelines, and templates. Write clear and effective instructional text, audio, or video scripts appropriate for the target audience. Participate in milestone meetings with subject matter experts, including task analysis, alpha, beta, and train the trainer. Engage with subject matter experts for ongoing content review and validation. Receive and incorporate feedback. Self-manage assigned tasks and deadlines to complete deliverables. Proactively communicate issues and risks. Required Skills ~3+ years’ experience developing instructor-led training and on-the-job tasks for technical skills. ~ Knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design and methodologies. ~ Proven experience performing task analysis. ~ Strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams. ~ Demonstrated ability to execute and deliver against multiple competing deadlines, as needed. Desired Skills Experience developing technical training on machining, solar technician, SCADA, or hydro operations. Experience with QuestionMark, Author-It or Storyline. Client's Academy experience a plus. Location Must live within Client's Territory of Central or Northern California. Must follow Pacific Standard Time office hours in a virtual office environment.
