Job Description:

An SAP Basis administrator would be responsible for the technical management and maintenance of the SAP environment, ensuring the smooth operation of various SAP modules by monitoring system performance, troubleshooting technical issues, managing user access, implementing system updates, and coordinating with business stakeholders to address any SAP-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Administration:

1. Monitoring SAP system health, identifying potential performance bottlenecks and taking corrective actions.
2. Managing SAP system configurations, including parameters, profiles, and settings to optimize performance.
3. Performing system upgrades and patching to maintain current SAP versions and security levels.
4. Implementing disaster recovery strategies and ensuring high availability of the SAP environment.

• User Management:

1. Creating, modifying, and deleting user accounts within the SAP system.
2. Assigning appropriate user roles and authorizations based on business requirements.
3. Managing user access and security protocols to maintain data integrity.

• Transport Management:

1. Overseeing the transport process for SAP changes between development, quality assurance, and production environments.
2. Managing transport requests and resolving any conflicts that may arise.

• Troubleshooting and Support:

1. Diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to SAP system functionality.
2. Providing technical support to end-users on SAP applications and resolving their queries.
3. Collaborating with functional consultants to analyze business requirements and implement SAP solutions.

• Performance Tuning:

1. Analyzing system performance metrics and identifying areas for optimization.
2. Implementing performance tuning techniques to improve system responsiveness and efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Strong understanding of SAP Basis administration concepts, including system configuration, user management, transport management, and performance tuning.
• Experience with SAP modules relevant to operations (e.g., MM, SD, FI-CO)
• Proficiency in ABAP programming for troubleshooting and customization
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server)
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
