Description Job Purpose: The SAP Basis/Platforms Administrator plays a key role in supporting SAP and other related third-party software used by Ball Horticultural Company’s global operations. The primary focus of this position is SAP Basis administration, which includes tasks like strategic planning for system upgrades, capacity planning, and ensuring security. In addition to SAP, other software platforms are included in this area of responsibility (reporting systems, credit cards, etc.) This role requires a deep understanding of SAP to ensure the stability, performance, and seamless interaction of all related software. The administrator will work closely with third-party vendors and managed service providers to achieve the company’s objectives. An important part of the role is managing external service providers and implementing Global Governance. The administrator must take a proactive approach, using monitoring tools to maintain system security and performance, helping the company grow while preventing any disruptions to business operations. Responsibilities: Strategic planning, research and recommending emerging trends, required SAP related patching, upgrades, security and input to general infrastructure roadmap & budget (20%) Work closely with 3rd party managed services providers to: Monitor and manage the entire ERP ecosystem, including performance, stability and security (50%) Apply system upgrades and patches (10%) Develop, test, and maintain disaster recovery plans for SAP ecosystem (5%) Project work (10%) Develop and maintain clear and concise documentation (5%) Personal Characteristics Earns and shows Trust and Respect Excellent communication and collaboration skills Team Player (Dependable, Collaborative) Curious and Eager to Learn Shows Technical Competence and Aptitude Forward Thinking with ability to understand the Big Picture Requirements 5+ years of Basis Production Support experience for SAP (S/4HANA, ECC) including related remote connectivity & security technologies (authentication and SSO). Administration and understanding of WEBGUI, Web Dispatcher, PI/PO, and Solution Manager Experienced with SAP Router Experience managing connectivity and performance for local and remote SAP users (including authorization and licensing) Working knowledge of SUSE Linux Application of support packs, kernel patches, java patches, enhancement packs and upgrades SAP Job scheduling Hands-on execution of DEV and QA system refreshes Hands-on experience with planning and execution of regular maintenance and major upgrades, including changing management controls. The ability to manage external service providers, enforce Global Governance and SLA’s Desired Experience SAP Central CCMS Monitoring administration knowledge. SAP permissions & authorizations SAP Archiving solutions SAP in Microsoft Azure SAP Fiori / CDS experience General SAP ABAP principals (i.e. performance tracing) Use of automated testing tools (i.e. Neoload, Tosca) Experience working in a change control environment such as ITIL Experience with the following applications that are a part of Ball Horticultural Company’s landscape: Delago Credit Card tokenization Esker Document Management SAP PI/Seeburger (EDI XML) SAP is tightly integrated with custom .NET environments Microsoft Power BI and Data Factory Physical Requirements Ability to travel an average of 5% per year Ability to sit/stand 100% of the day Ability to use hands/fingers 100% of the day Ball Horticultural Company is a leading breeder and distributor of flowers and vegetables around the globe.
